MISSIONS BEYOND THE BEYOND
SUMMER UPDATE

Good morning friends and partners,

Thank you so much for being partners with Missions Beyond. This year has been an exciting time.

We have seen the completion of a school building project in Barranca.  Electricians installed needed wiring to provide electricity to the school office, classrooms and computer learning center. Classrooms received paint and ceiling fans with lights, creating a more pleasurable environment for learning.  A computer learning center houses desk top computers with a printer and wifi connection.  Not only is the school using this center, the Bible School and surrounding community is benefitting as well.

A church in Constanza, now has a roof, windows, and doors.  A church parsonage has a new non leaking roof and living room furniture.

Eight schools, totaling over 600 students, received wrapped gifts for the first time.  Some children didn’t even know how to unwrap the gift, others gave care to unwrapping, and a few ripped them open because they couldn’t contain their curiosity.  Smiles and laughter filled the school as children expressed their joy and gratitude for the gifts you helped provide.

Here in the States, Missions Beyond has been helping families that need help with food until the next paycheck.  Young women have been able to find office wear for a new employment opportunity.  Warmth offered during the cold months through coats, sweatshirts, jackets, and boots.  A family received a gas card so they could travel to the hospital to with their family member as they recovered from surgical procedure.  School children will receive a book a month during the school year.

You helped make this happen.  Thank you.  May you be rewarded for your generosity and faithfulness.
Missions Beyond’s Board WANTS TO SHARE about an amazing opportunity on the horizon to expand the work and ministry of Missions Beyond the Beyond stateside.

In the months we have been visiting with people, churches, and organizations that are seeing a need to reach those who will not walk through the traditional church doors to connect with God and others.  Property has become available that would allow Missions Beyond to establish a Mission House Community Action Outreach. The property is located near the town square of a small rural community.

In talking with pastors and leaders in the area, interest has been expressed in helping/partnering with Missions Beyond to establish a center that would reach out to the unseen and unchurched of the community.  To offer a hand up, to help these people in our community, showing Christ's love in tangible ways.

The unseen is the child who often is left alone as parents pursue their addiction.  Single Moms working more than one job to make ends meet and care for her children. The single female who lives alone, who feels unseen and alone struggling to stand strong on her own. The worker who is between paychecks or starting a new job, needing food for his family.  The widow/widower that is existing on his pension check and it isn't enough to pay the utilities, their medical expenses, prescriptions, and buy food or fuel for their vehicle. The family that lost income due to a tragedy or accident and just need a little help

The unchurched as those who may have never attended church, don’t attend because of church hurt, or attend once every three months that family church because that is where you must go if you go to church. As we view our community, we also see that we have a foreign mission field here. There is a huge foreign population in our area of Holt and Buchanan counties, coming from the countries of Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador, Africa, and many other places. We would like to offer a community outreach center for those that need a hand up, develop relationships that lead to church attendance and involvement

We have many of these helps already in place, we simply need a larger space where we can store food items and other household goods, house an upscale clothing closet, and sit down with those who need help and offer a listening ear and helping hand.  Sharing Christ’s love over a cup of coffee or tea, talking about life struggles and encourage those who are feeling discouraged and overwhelmed.

Within the next months we would like to find/purchase such a place to house the Mission House outreach. We hope to establish a Saturday evening Bible Study (church plant) where food is served and we sit and talk about life, study the Word together, sing and laugh together, ending with prayer. Forming a 'family' for those who feel unseen, unnoticed, unloved, and unwanted.  Church won't look the way it did in the past, it will be sitting around a table, sharing life and being connected to God and to others.

Within five years, we hope and believe that Mission House will become an established life center in our community.

You may be wondering how can I help?  We need prayer partners, volunteers, laborers or short-term mission teams.  People willing to come, help make repairs, set up, and prepare the place for use.  We will announce food donation drives.  We will invite church groups to come and help on Saturday evenings.  And yes, we need a few more monthly financial supporters to help Mission House develop and move into a self-sustaining life center.
Many of you are faithful partners and we couldn’t do what is being done wit out your help.  Some of you have thought about helping, yet haven’t taken the step, because you might only be able to pledge $5 a month.  $5 can help buy grocery items, paper products, coffee.  No pledge is too small to make a ripple effect.  As a 501(c) 3 Humanitarian effort recognized by both the Federal and State, Missions Beyond is able to offer donation acknowledgment letters to individuals and businesses.

Thank you for your contributions and prayers. Maybe you could help enlist volunteers and spread the word about Mission House Life Center!  Feel free to forward this email.
